I don't have much to write now because I've been so busy. I have a presentation to do next weekend, and a research poster to do the week after that. I'm not working on much right now, except for a pair of crochet baby booties which I'll post pictures of when I'm finished. My fellow fellow (!) (actually his wife) is expecting a girl this summer, just before my sister is. I don't have time for a Big Project for them, but I thought some booties from one of the many crochet books I inheirited from my grandma might whip up quickly.
This is an outfit I made for Gene a couple years ago. This is from one of the patterns that Vogue was doing a few years ago, based on their old patterns from the 40's. The assembly was incredibly fussy, but I was pretty happy with how it turned out. The skirt is removable and she has shorts on underneath. I made matching earrings out of plastic-headed straight pins that I cut short with wire cutters. The pattern came with instructions for a matching cartwheel hat--I'll get around to that eventually. I also think she needs a beach bag of some sort, once I figure out what it should look like.
